Cloud Computing in Libraries

Cloud Computing in Libraries

What is a Clould?

The Cloud is in the simplies terms a place where infore mation is stored and shared. It is constaly updated and used by most people.

According to Winds of Change: Libraries and Cloud Computing "In essence, the Internet cloud becomes the development platform and the operating system to which programmers write reusable, constantly updated software components that are delivered over the network and that can be embedded or loosely coupled with other Web applications"(Goldner 2010).

By using the cloud it allows bussniess, libarieas and everday people to gain more acess to information and create a better operating system.

How are Libaries using them?

Libraries are using the cloud to help patrons and have a more expansive database.

"Cloud computing solutions at their essence are built on current technology and should be architected to allow for technology shifts" (Goldner 2010).

By using the cloud it creates a more essay navigated online library that allows patrons a better way to find their information and to use the network.

This is a more indepth example of what libaray could service can do.
