Makerspaces

Makerspace

What is a makerspace?

For those who might not know what a makerspace is a spareat place that is set up for stem and DIY activeitys.

According to What is a Makerspace? "These spaces are open to kids, adults, and entrepreneurs and have a variety of maker equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, soldering irons, and even sewing machines"

This space is there to let people explore the creative side of them. By having a makerspace in a library it gives people space for them to create.

When going to 5 Reasons Makerspaces Belong in School Libraries the article talks about different reasons to give libraries a makerspace, for example, it gives them all the resources that they need. There is educational value in playing and creating.

I belive that by having a makerspace avilibe for the public can help people explaor new ways to solve problem and be creative with everyday issues.

Go to the LIBRARY AS MAKERSPACE to get some ideas.
